Haircare Basics: How to Prevent Hair Breakage

Preventing Hair Breakage

Having healthy locks take a lot of work, but it will all be worth it once you see your hair all soft and shiny! Breakage can take a toll on your hair and can easily make it look dull, dry and unhealthy. Kerluxe discusses some helpful tips on how you can keep your hair safe from breaking.

Avoid brushing wet hair.

Do not brush your hair right after taking a bath as this could cause a lot of breakage and split ends. If you really need to untangle those knots, make sure to use a detangling spray. Put it on your hair and gently comb your fingers through it.

It would be better to comb your hair once it is fully dry. It would be less fragile and not that prone to breakage anymore.

Lower the heat on your heat styling tools.

Heat styling tools, such as curling irons, straightening irons and blowers can contribute to hair breakage. If you cannot avoid using heat styling tools altogether, at least make sure to put the heat level on its lowest setting to reduce the risks of hair breakage.

Let your hair down.

Pulling your hair up too tight in a ponytail can cause damage to your hair and can cause some of the strands to break off. Avoid putting too much stress on your hair by letting it down. If you ever have to put it in a ponytail, make sure to make it loose instead of super tight.

If you are suffering from hair fall or breakage, you know how important it is to take good care of your hair by using an anti-hair fall conditioners every day and using shampoo just two or three times a week. This will keep your hair hydrated and healthy.
